Windows 10: I can't access manage settings when I go into virus and threat protection on windows 10

When I go into windows defender virus and threat protection manage settings doesn't pop up and I wanna temporarily disable real-time protection. Is there any way how to?

As an alternative approach, you can allow that utility through the Controlled Folder Access section of WIndows 10 security . . .

Open Windows Defender Security Center

Go to Virus & threat protection - Virus & threat protection settings

Scroll down to Controlled folder access

From there, you can add Dell Data Vault to the list of safe or allowed apps to prevent it from being blocked

Please do not leave Controlled Folder Access turned off permanently

 

Accessing "Virus & threat protection settings"

There are a few things you can try:



1. Try opening the Control Panel and then going to Security and then Virus & threat protection settings.



2. If that doesn't work, try opening the Start Menu and then typing "gpedit.msc" into the search bar. This should open up the Group Policy Editor, which should then allow you to access the Virus & threat protection settings.







3. If neither of those work, then you may not have the correct permissions to access the Virus & threat protection settings. In that case, you'll need to contact your administrator and ask for access.
