Windows 10: I can't backup on an external driver on Windows 11

Hello, I am new to windows 11 and wanted to do the monthly backup as I always did on windows 10. After a long time searching for where the new backup setting is, I found out, I only have the option to backup my data on the Open drive. I searched everywhere for a solution, all the sites guided me to Setting--->System--->Storage--->Backup options, but when I select the backup option; it switches to Account--->windows Backup, where unlike the sites I only have the option to backup my files to Open Drive. Can anyone please explain to me how I can fix this problem?

External drive

You've mentioned that you were able to try some of the troubleshooting steps that was provided by a Microsoft online agent, we'd like to know if you were able to roll back the said driver as well. If not, kindly follow the steps listed below and check if
it helps to resolve the issue:

• Press Windows Key + X then select Device Manager from the list.
  
• Locate the external driver and right-click to open the Properties option.
  
• Go to the Driver tab and click the Roll Back Driver button. Click
  OK.

Note: The Roll Back Driver button is only available if a previous version of the driver was installed. If the current driver for the device is the only one that was ever installed on this computer, then the Roll Back Driver button is not enabled.

How to set a Backup location (Windows XP)?

Hi Greg - It is Windows 7.

The problem is when I attach an external hard drive to use as a backup the device does not come up as a possible backup (if I go through the steps to choose a backup). Nor is it listed as a folder in the Libraries window to drag files into.

I have gone through via Windows help all steps, and yet the drive is still not appearing as a possible Backup location.

(It is listed in Devices).

If you can explain to me how to set this external hard drive up as a backup I'd be grateful!
