Windows 10: I can't install Minecraft

I was running Minecraft OK.
I signed up for the Beta to see the RTX version.
Instead of the RTX version, I got 1.16.
I couldn't get anything other than 1.16, no matter if I selected the RTX version 1.15, or even if I unenrolled from the Beta program.
I tried various combinations of steps over a 48 hour period. Many, many reinstalls of Minecraft, restarting PC, re-enrolling in the Beta etc.
I gave ownership of WindowsApps folder to Administrators in order to delete Minecraft 1.16.
I then gave ownership of WindowsApps folder to NT Service\TrustedInstaller, hoping that's who is meant to have it.
Minecraft would not install.


I then followed the following steps ...

1. Open MS Store > Click on your profile picture on top right and sign-out. Then sign-in again.

2. Run Windows App Troubleshooter
Windows Key+X > Click Settings > Click Update & security > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down to the bottom > Click Windows Store Apps > Click Run the Troubleshooter

3. Reset Windows Store through Command Prompt
Type cmd in Windows Search box > Right click on Command Prompt > Run As Administrator > Type WSreset.exe and click Enter > Reboot your computer

4. Re-register All Store apps
Right click on Windows Start > Right click on Windows Powershell Admin > Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Restart your computer

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$$_.InstallLocation\AppXManifest.xml"}

5. Uninstall & Reinstall Store
Right click on Windows Start > Right click on Windows Powershell Admin > Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* Remove-AppxPackage

Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Reboot your computer

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$$_.InstallLocation\AppXManifest.xml”}

Minecraft does not install with an error .. Code: 0x80070003

I did successfully install another app from the store without issue.

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server

 

Minecraft Got Deleted After Clean Installating Windows 10 And Again Minecraft Purchased.

I think you did a Clean Installation of Windows 10 and Clean Installation will delete all your applications; games; and your user data such as music files, video files, pictures, documents, etc.

1. From where did you purchase the Minecraft game?
   
2. Have you already installed Minecraft on your Windows 10 computer?
   

If you have purchased several copies of Minecraft from Mojang, then I suggest you to refer the
Mojang refunds policy and check their refund policy.



If you have purchased Minecraft from Microsoft Store, then I suggest you to refer
Returning items you bought from Microsoft Store for exchange or refund
and check if you can get a refund.



If you have purchased Minecraft from Oculus, then I suggest you to
Contact the Oculus Support Team and they will help you with this.
