    @xdarkmario

    Don't be put off by the EULA - it's a legal 'catch-all' - MS have been involved in some ridiculous law-suits and want to ensure these do not get to court - you can turn off personal info collection in settings, not use Cortana, an MSA etc... The built in telemetry has no bearing on personal info.

  2. Sorry ... but you're a little "late to the game" in revealing this NOW! This info has been known, and hotly debated, around here since the very beginning of the Insider program.

    Bringing it up now is just digging up old material that has already been thrashed to death.

    As Superfly says, the best thing to do if you're worried about these is use a local account not a microsoft account and turn off contana, bing etc. Don't use the Windows store to purchase apps. Plenty of features can be turned off.
    Let's face it, Google, Facebook, Twitter and many many others already collect a huge amount of data on everyone anyway so it isn't really anything to be concerned about.
    The only way to stop your data being collected these days is don't use the internet! *Biggrin

    You already have every bit of your life spread out among data banks all over the place - don't sweat it. Welcome to the modern world of computers.

    Well, I guess it all boils down to this: If anyone is overlyconcerned about personal information being accessed, it's best that theydisable their internet connection. Once a person gets on line he/she's open tothe world. It's best to be aware of this and take all the precaution possible.I understand the original poster's concern, but as Walter Cronkite would havesaid, "And that's the way it is."

    Yes, you can still get the free upgrade to Windows 10 and continue to get updates without being in the insider program. All you need is a qualifying OS installed on the PC you want to upgrade.

    (and reserve a copy) ...

    I've used Windows ever since Windows 3. I've never been an insider and have always gotten all updates. As far as Windows pre-release is concerned, I could be inaccurate on those updates.

    Very true but in Windows 10, insiders will get it first.
