Windows 10: I find Windows 10 so hard,especially with pictures and files

I once had W10 and could not work out how to use it and find photos and files for ages and turned it back to W7,clear,easy,neat. Now bought a new laptop,W10 thrown at me again and I desperately need to send some pictures,quite a lot,but everything is a mess.

When downloading photos there is no option where you want the photos downloaded and what file or to make a new file,no option to erase photos on the camera,then when you,finally,find your pictures,they are all jumbled up together.I cannot work out which way chronologically they are going,no option to classify them by date.

I try to create a new folder and copy and paste the bunch of photos I need for clearer viewing and emailing,but cannot do it.I select a bunch of photos and do not see how to move them into a folder,cannot even find the new folder.

I have heard many have gone to IT experts to revert to W7.

I do not understand what was the need for making something that worked so well so complicated.It is selfish. Most people know only the basics of IT and this is all horrendous.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder


Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Pictures in Windows 10

Apologize for the late reply.

Are you able to find other files and folders on Windows 10?

I suggest you to have a look for Windows 8.1 pictures in Windows.old folder.

Try the following steps:

• Press Windows + E keys to open Windows explorer
• Press C:\ Drive
• under C: drive look for Windows.old folder
• open users under Windows.old
