Windows 10: I get error 0x80070002 installing Win11 22H2?

When installing Win11 22H2 upgrade from a USB, I get the error 0x8007002. Researching Windows Support, 0x80070002 can be almost anything it seems.However, I get the following Error message from the CBS log file.2023-03-23 23:37:05, Info CBS Startup: Initializing driver operations queue. 2023-03-23 23:37:05, Info CBS Startup: Initializing advanced operation queue. 2023-03-23 23:37:05, Info CSI 00000002 CSI Store 2076438014992 initialized 2023-03-23 23:37:05, Info CBS Startup: Waiting for SC autostart event 2023-03-2

Every time when I try to update Windows from Win11 21H21 to Win11 22H2, it never succeeds. When I check Event Viewer, I get the logs below:

- Commit Failure: Windows failed to commit the following update with error 0x800700B7: Windows 11, version 22H2

- Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80242016: Windows 11, version 22H2.

"



My laptop is a Lenovo IdeaPad 5i.



I've already tried the steps below, but I'm still getting the same error:



# I Used Windows update troubleshooter to check the issue



# I Ran the following commands:

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth

# I Unplugged USB peripherals and retried the installation process

# I Disabled all services in the startup tab in "Task Manager"



# I Downloaded standalone package manually and tried to install Win11 22H2 using ISO Image

 

2004 update windows 10 error 0x80070002

Hello everyone,

thanks to some of the suggestions here and to some from other sources I have managed to fix the 0x80070002 error breaking up my feature update to 2004.

For completeness' sake and since it may help others, the following steps worked for me.

1. Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website
2. Create a bootable USB drive with the MCT
3. Boot up from this USB Drive
4. Choose install settings, click 'Next', but on the next screen select "Repair your computer" instead of "Install"
5. Choose "Troubleshoot" -> "Startup Repair" and let it finish
6. Restart into Windows and attempt the usual Windows update

It looks like the BCD on my computer had been damaged by the boot loader (Windows 10 + Recovery partition) and running the "Startup Repair" from the installation USB Drive corrected the errors.

Yes. Deleting the Logitech WebCam drivers from the driver store should resolve the issue.
