I got an out-of-the-blue notification that An Administrator tried to locate my device that... 2b379207-af85-4097-b3a5-a908b4ad8a8d?upload=true.png

I got the above notification today. I'm the only administrator and I didn't request location today. I checked all of my login history, and all logins came from my location with my IP Address. I checked to make sure my account still has multi-factor authentication and it does. On one machine it uses the Microsoft Authenticator which requires my biometrics or phone pin to access, and on my other device, logging into my Microsoft Account requires Windows Hello authentication and I used my fingerprint.

So, it doesn't seem like anyone hacked my Microsoft Account, but I'd like to make sure.

I did a location request about a week ago, but it couldn't update for some reason. Is it possible that the system queued up the request, and when it was able to fulfill it, it did, and that's why I'm just getting the notification now?

    Thank you,

    Jay

    :)

An administrator tried to locate this device.

Hi so the other night I had decided to go into my Microsoft account on microsoft.com. When I looked at my devices I had clicked locate on Windwows 10 desktop and I heard a notification sound on my desktop that an administrator tried to locate this device.

Well I closed it and went on with my day. However every time I bring my desktop out of sleep I get the notification again and again. I managed to do a temp fix by disabling the location on my desktop, but when I re enable it the notification comes back. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

  3. (SOLVED/CLOSED)looking for help with Android phone CONSTANT wireless signal notification

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.
