Windows 10: I had works 8 on my previous windows 64 bit 8.1 prof now on windows 10 prof 64 bit it wont...

How come I cannot download my works 8 onto windows 10 prof when I had it on windows 8.1 prof 64 bit. what is the difference.It tells me this works will not download onto a 64bit system. I had it on 64bit before with my windows 8.1 prof. I have downloaded IE 6 and it still will not work. It seems crazy that I had it on Wind 8.1 prof 64 bit and now it cant be done on wind 10 prof 64bitand it is the latest version of windows. What is the answer.

Upgraded from windows 8 64 bit to windows 10 32 bit installed instead of 64.

I did the freeupgrade from windows 8 64 bit to windows 10. I selected the correct info in stating I had basically windows 8 64 bit and it automatically downloaded windows 10 32 bit. I am not sure how to correct this problem to install the 64 bit version.

 

Windows 8 Pro - 64 bit on a Dell E6410 ATG?

I own a Dell E6410 ATG. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 Pro and am enjoying the new features of Win 8 Pro. When I got the computer it had a 32 bit version of Windows 7 on it. So I used the 32 bit version of Windows 8 Pro when loading the new OS.

But as I read the specs of the now discontinued Dell E6410 ATG it shows that it was capable of operating using the Windows 7 64 bit OS. I also maxed the Memory (ram) out at 8GB.

It appears that I may be able to use more of the installed memory if this computer was using the 64 bit architecture.

I am not technically brave enough to just attempt loading the Windows 8 Pro 64 bit OS and see if it works.

Has anyone here tried this or have any input on this?

There is no direct way to convert 32-bit Windows 8 into 64-bit Windows 8.1, unless you make clean install of 64-bit Windows 8.1 by formatting 32-bit Windows 8.
