Windows 10: I have a problem with Windows 10 pro i can't install a driver for my wifi card

How to force the installation of an older Driver we know is better than the one They claims who is supposed to be the better...

Wifi and browser problems with windows 10


I'll tell you how I fixed an identical problem on a ASUS laptop that had run perfectly on Windows 7 and ran well on W10 from January until the Anniversary update in early August. I tried everything I found on this forum and two others. Nothing worked. The last thing someone suggested was disabling the adapter and using a WiFi dongle. Problem continued. Nobody suggested changing the wireless network adapter. I bought and installed an Intel 7260 WiFi card and just used the driver which was downloaded on the reboot after the install. All problems solved!!

I must have wasted two months reading and trying everything. Even the manufacturer support inferred I needed a new machine though they sent me a Windows 8.1 driver to try, with the same result.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to determine if they white list any cards and see if they have suggestions for a compatible card. They may want you to buy another laptop but if the cards aren't white listed, a simple card swap to one compatible with Windows 10 seems to be the answer.

 

problems with Intel 4965agn wifi card - Windows 10 Pro

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Sony Vaio VGN-FZ290 laptop. The machine went through the Microsoft testing OK prior to the update. After update I am getting periodic blue screens with error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQ..."

Also, now am unable to access network drives from this computer. I receive error message for this that "one or more network protocols is missing from this computer."

I have tried all suggested fixes for these problems already on the forum. I believe the problem is the driver for the Intel WiFi card 4965agn. There is no Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 driver for this card that I can find.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you!

 

Windows 7 wont install drivers

i dont think anyone here understands what your asking either when its nearly a 90% english dominated Tech forum.
Step 1
reinstall windows from scratch
Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
Step 3
update windows
Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
Step 5
Install GPU drivers
Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.
