I have a spectre 360 laptop connected to external monitor thru a G5 USB-C dock. The power button is out side. How do I turn on my laptop without opening the lid. I am running Windows 11 home.

Type C USB to connect external monitor shows limited connectivity

I am unable to connect my DELL monitor with my laptop using HP Docking station as it is giving limited or no connectivity message. The docking station is connected to the laptop through TYPE C USB.

Can anyone suggest any solution for it?

 

External monitors do not wake after unlocking laptop - USB-C dock

Hi,

I am currently running a personal laptop with windows 11 (Lenovo IdeaPad 5) through a HP USB-C docking station. Connected to the docking station are two external BenQ GL2250 monitors via display port, and a Logitech MK320 keyboard/mouse. The laptop lid is closed generally with the two monitors working as an extended desktop

I have an issue when the laptop is locked; roughly 90 seconds after locking, the monitors turn off. When I unlock the laptop, the monitors do not wake but the mouse and keyboard still function (I've verified this by lifting the laptop lid and navigating round the desktop), suggesting that this is not a USB power issue (also see below re work laptop). The only way to rectify the issue is to remove the USB-C connector, wait until I can hear the notification that the device has been removed, wait around 5 seconds and then plug the USB-C cable back in. At this point, the monitors power back up.

Below are screen shots after I have done the following:

- locked the laptop and waited for the monitors to lose the connection

- Opened laptop lid and unlocked (USB-C docking station still connected)

The final screen shot shows the position after I have reconnected the USB-C dock, and the monitors have connected successfully

As a side note, I run a work laptop (Lenovo Thinkbook 14 running Windows 10 through the same docking station, and it does not have the same issue. If anyone can explain what settings I need to implement to ensure that monitors wake after unlocking, I would greatly appreciate it.
