Windows 10: I have changed my email address and need to update it on Microsoft Account. How do I do this

I have changed my email address and the one linked to the Microsoft account is no longer in existance, which means if I try to send any emails from the internet or automatically, they do not send as that account no longer exists. How do I change the email on my Microsoft account

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.

Here is how you can change the email address on your Microsoft account:

• Sign in to
  Manage how you sign in to Microsoft
  and fill in the information needed.
• Once you are on the page of Manage how you sign in to Microsoft,
  select Add email under the
  Account alias.
• Choose the option Create a new email address or
  Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias.
• Click Add alias.
• Click Make primary (To make the new email address as primary alias, you need to verify it for security purposes then follow the instruction on the email to
  finish the process).

Note: It will take up to 48 hours for the change to your email address to be applied across all Microsoft services.
