  1. I have cloned my ssd to a new bigger ssd but it won’t boot, how do I fix the issue?

I had a 500gb ssd installed on my system but got a 1tb ssd cloned the old drive across via another drive as I only have 1 ssd slot and neither of the ssd nor the hdd as the piggy back drive will boot up the system. I have an old 128gb ssd that has windows on so I am able to get onto windows I just need all my apps and files moving across to the bigger ssd. They do all seem to be on the new 1tb ssd but when I try boot it says no operating system, when connected through a usb-m.2 hub it shows all files and everything there on the drive

    :)

    Clone SSD to bigger SSD

Been trying to get my new 480 gig Sandisk to take a direct clone from my old Sandisk 128 gig SSD and all the programs I've tried keep assigning separate drive letters to each partition and then the bigger SSD wont even boot right. It boots to a blank 10 blue screen with two icons in the taskbar then starts blinking from that screen to a completely blank screen. It even somehow messed up my 128 but I was able to restore it to a time just before it got upgraded and it is booting fine again to the old SSD. I've tried the free clone program that they let you download from WD and it does like all the other free versions I've tried, separate drive letters for each partition then of course it doesn't boot properly. I've got the Acronis WD edition, Easus, macroit, anything I can find free that has good reviews.
I have always had no problem upgrading a normal boot hard drive to a bigger one but SSD to SSD must require some special settings or other steps I don't understand. I poked around here and even tried making a image but that didn't work either so I just need to know what to use that's free or cheap and how to set it up so it actually clone without adding extra drive letters and just acts like my old boot SSD only on the new bigger SSD
    Thanks, Terry

  3. SSD clone issues with Space

    Good Afternoon everyone

so my SSD drive was starting to get full it has 128gb capacity. I decided to upgrade to a 500gb i found on newegg for a decent price. I used the paragon ssd clone program and everything transferred succesfully. Then i changed the boot order in my start up and menu and have succfully removed my old ssd and and running on the new one. My issue is when i check my disk space for the new SSD it is still showing me the old SSD and saying it is almost full. Did i miss a step somewhere? Has anyone else had this happen?

I have cloned my ssd to a new bigger ssd but it won’t boot, how do I fix the issue?

Unable to Boot to Windows 10 after Cloning old SSD to new SSD

When you say 'recovered the image to the new SSD'. Did you clone from the HDD to new SSD, and why the round about method ?

I've never cloned to an external drive, with the exception of when the machine has an external hot swap SATA port, but I

have cloned from SSD to HDD and back again using a SATA connection without any issues.

The boot sector should get written to the new drive by the cloning software (I use AOEMI ). The software also sorts out

alignment differences between HDD and SSD.

If there is a problem booting with the new drive, if you swap the SATA ports so the new drive is connected to the port the

old was connected to and vice-versa, the boot sector should get written to the new drive when you reboot.
