    I have just upgraded the motherboard and CPU on my son's PC. As advised before starting we did a full system back-up.

    All looked well until we got past the initial BIOS setup screens and now we just have the following message:

    "An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system.

    Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"


    The PC has a the hard drive that is came with and an additional one that we added for extra storage out of an old computer a couple of years ago. Do you think that if I disconnect the spare hard drive the PC will find my Windows 10 operating system on the in-built one?

    PC Build Steps

    Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

    PC Randomly Can Not Be Started

    Hi Vijay

    I have tried every step as advised.

    But this morning I could not start on the PC, but at 10.00 (local time) I'm able to turn on.

    I notice my PC clock also change into 00.00.

    Let me know if you can suggest other steps to be tried.

    I have just changed the motherboard on my son's PC and on start up the PC cannot find an operating system. Help!
