Windows 10: I have no MOUSE!!!! After reset.

I have no MOUSE!!!! I just reset my computer in windows 10 home which was windows 7 home before the upgrade to windows 10.

Long story short, the restart went quick about 1 hour 15 mins. However when finished the computer restarted and I had no USB ports that worked which meant no Mouse! My mouse was not even detected in device management after a few hours of navigating through with the keyboard, and not being able to get what I needed from the manufacturer, because of the inability to select the links I needed to download drivers.


The light bulb went off. When I purchased my computer it came with a disc that had drivers on it. All of which were removed by the reset. I popped that disc in the drive, and let it run. (with fingers crossed) and once it had installed all that was on it, I restarted PC and when it came back on I had a mouse.


I understand this issue with no mouse is happening to a lot of us that have had to reset our PC's for what ever reason, and I have searched for a solution and have found nothing. Except try this, or that, all of which I was not able to do because I did not have a mouse. and could only get to some places using keyboard navigation. If you don't have a disc with drivers, make sure you download them (to someplace other than your Hard drive) before you reset. This is what solved my issue of not having a mouse. Now I can see what else awaits me, now that I can navigate and select. Good luck I hope this helps you to experience less pain then I had to endure.

Reset mouse settings in Windows 10?

• Navigate to Start>Settings>Devices.
• Click on Mouse and Touchpad.
• In the right pane, click on Additional Mouse Settings.
• Under Pointer tab, Click on Use Default.
• Click on Apply and OK.

Ive factory reset my computer but I can't use the mouse or the keyboard to select laugage

that can resolve your concern, we would like to ask the following questions:

• Are you performing a factory reset on a laptop or a desktop?
• Is this the first time you perform a factory reset on your device?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve your concern?

In the meantime, if you're working on a desktop, we suggest that you try to use a PS2 keyboard just to bypass the installation process. Once Windows is up and running, you may now plug your mouse and keyboard to initialize Windows to detect these devices.
