Windows 10: I have trouble updating PC from windows 7 to 11

I'm trying to update a PC from windows 7 to windows 11. When I go to start, control panel, system security, windows update I get the error code 8024402C. Not sure if it's even OK to leap straight from 7 to 11 since I'm new to this. It used to be a work PC and I'm not sure if they used a digital licence or a product key to get windows at the time but I am quite certain I will need to get a new licence for it. I'm just not sure if I should be going for digital licence or product key now that its a home PC. I'm quite sure the PC meets the hardware requirements should I back the PC up on an extern

Windows 7 Ultimate (64) Security updates not installing.

I have been having problems in installing the updates that I have listed below. For each update I attempted to install them individually but they would not install. I also downloaded the SURT 6.1 KB947821 v27. The problem has been going on now for about 2 months. (whenever the issue with the updates comes to mind I am never near my pc). Thank you in advance.

Simplifying updates for Windows 7 and 8.1

Just experienced this myself. I wanted to download the update because this is a massive problem and fresh installs of Windows 7 are still in my future. I don't have a problem using IE11 but...
1. I add the download to my cart.
2. Click on basket.
3. Click on download.
4. Window pops up asking to browse for folder.
5. Click on it, UAC pops up demanding admin password. "No problem," I thought.
6. Enter admin password. Nothing happens.
7. Close window and repeat steps 3-6. Getting frustrated now.
8. Right-click and select refresh.
9. Repeat steps 4-6.
10. WTF?
11. Come to the sad realization I'll have to sign off and sign in as the admin account just to download a file.
12. Give up.

Terrible indeed. I'll have to do it eventually though. *Frown

Windows 7 update help needed

Language packs should be listed in the optional updates section of Windows Update.

As for installing Win 7, it should merely ask for the qualifying media to be inserted to the dvd drive. That's what XP upgrade install discs did when there wasn't a previous OS installed.
