Windows 10: i inserted new RAM [32GB] but rather 32GB shows usable 24GB is RAM mal

i inserted new RAM [32GB DDR2 used chips ECC] but rather 32GB shows usable 24GB is RAM malfunction????? on boot i get error slot 2...well?

Hi Everyone

I have a windows 10 64 bit operating system.

I have had an issue since I built this computer.

I first found the error when I went into control panel and clicked system.

system displayed 32 GB 31.9 usable.

I replaced the CPU twice and it set to 32GB of ram then set back again to( 32GB 31.9GB usable). ( black Amd 8350 Cpu) (Amd 9590)

I also replaced my ram three times.

I replaced my Amd v formula z motherboard three times as well.

I have the amd sapphire tri x 280 and 380 tri x GPU.

I did some research based on this issue it was not much help.

I also went to my local JBHI and found eight PCs with the same issue.

I also went to Harvey Norman and found the same issue.

I suspect this issue has something to do with my asus bios, windows 10 or memory in the CPU,GPU and possibly ram.

I think it has something to do with the bios and windows 10.

Windows 10 Pro x64 32gb ram installed but only 16gb usable

I just upgraded to a 500GB SSD. Installed Windows 10 Pro x64. I have 32gb of ram. But windows 10 x64 is saying 16gb is usable. The UEFI motherboard bios sees the 32gb of ram. I did all the trouble shooting the motherboard manufacturer said to do, but
still didn't fix my problem. Anyone else having this problem? If so can you please inform me on how to fix this problem?

below are reported fixes

• update BIOS
• Take out RAM sticks completely re-sit (this worked for me weird)
• Run>Ms-config>Boot options>advanced boot>un-tick maximum memory

I had windows 7 Pro 64bit upgraded to windows 10 pro 64 bit I had 12gb 3x4 gb it sais 12gb (usable 4gb)

Turning of computer completely unplugging cable from power supple making sure no power is left in the motherboard or power supply, removed all the RAM reinserted this fixed the problem which is weird considering before upgrade windows 7 pro saw all 12 gb
and could use it.
