Windows 10: I just lost all my files

So to start out let me just say how **** the microsoft support system is. Seriously having to navigate my way through that **** robot just so I can have an opportunity to talk to a person was irritating. What was infuriating was when I finally was able to "talk to a person" and after I had created my account I get an error that simply says "There is an error with your microsoft account go use live" or some **** like that. Here I am frantically trying to retrieve all of my lost data and windows just gives me the finger and sends me on a wild goose chase. So here I am, because I don't want to have to troubleshoot just to get some help. Yesterday after installing an old windows game (Ed, Edd n Eddy mis-edventures) my computer prompted me to restart. After restarting my computer was stuck in an infinite loop of trying to repair, failing to repair and restarting. I know it wasn't a virus because the discs are ROM and they seem too legitimate too have been forged, although they are second hand. Plus I also had a reliable antivirus. So anyway, I dig up my windows 10 disc and finally manage to do a complete reinstall of windows. I find my windows.old file and am utterly relieved to find all my data there. It was almost 1 in the morning by this time so I decide to go to sleep and deal with it in the morning. I wake up at 11 the next morning (less than 12 hours after the restore) and find that my windows.old file was updated at 7:30 this morning. There's nothing there. All of my data is gone. Absolutely nothing can be retrieved and I can't speak to anyone to ask them why windows took the liberty of deleting ALL my information after 6 HOURS. I'm sorry but I am completely **** pissed right now. I took so many measures to avert this crisis, which quite frankly seems to have come out of shoddy design of windows. After everything I went through windows just up and deleted my files... I seriously don't know what to do with myself. To everyone who's going to come here and tell me "This is a lesson in backing up". NO. No it's not. I have had plenty of the stuff backed up, but I should feel safe and secure to store SOMETHING on my computer without fear of losing it at a moments notice. I am not in a position where I can backup literally everything I do on my computer, nor should I be expected to. This is honestly the last straw. I'm looking into alternative OS' as we speak....

Files lost after Automatic Repair

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
