    I just need someone to explain what is meant by "the primary DNS suffix of this computer",...


    I am renaming my desktop computer which is running Win 10 Home the latest W 10 update has been installed already. A window pops up after I put the new name in and it is asking 'what is the primary DNS suffix of my computer. I don't know what that is. Would someone please explain it to me?

    Trouble accessing Primary DNS number

    I have followed the necessary steps to find my Primary DNS number however, when I get there, there is nothing listed. It will say "Connection-Specific DNS Suffix:" with nothing to follow. Is there any other way it can be found other then the Win+R >> cmd
    >> ipconfig? Or what do I need to do to make it show up there?

    Incorrect DNS

    Hi Bradley

    That value should not be set, it is meant to change with whatever network you are connecting to . ..

    On that dialog, you should clear the Primary DNS Suffix and check the box marked 'Change primary DNS Suffix when Domain Membership Changes'

    Then restart your laptop . . .
