Windows 10: I keep getting error code 0x800f0922 since 2020-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Pro

I hope you can help me.


I've had my Thinkpad T460 since February and had no problems with updates until cumulative update 2020-03, which installed fine. However, during the required reboot, it would stop at around 97% and then suddenly undo all changes.

I let that one slide, hoping it would sort itself out.


Sadly, however, the exact same thing also happens with the latest cumulative update2020-04. I always get the error code 0x800f0922. I don't use a VPN and my internet connection is fine. I also don't use a third-party anti-virus application. I've tried disabling the firewall, but to no avail.

In short, I've tried every single piece of troubleshooting advice there is short of reinstalling Windows and wasted countless hours.

The Windows update troubleshooter can't find any issues.


All other updates e.g. Intel work fine and are not causing any issues.

Note that accompanying this is an update for Net framework,The error number is often associated with that.

Are you certain the error number is associated with the KB rather than the Net framework update offered simultaneously?

If you wished to separate the elements offered at this time and try installing them individually, you could use Windows Update Minitool (free) which allows you to select updates individually.
