Windows 10: I lost all of my administrator rights when I downloaded Windows 10

Hi,

Are you able to create the bootable usb Win10 installation disk using somebody else's pc (friend/family/work etc)?

 

NO I am basically in the jungle over here. If I just could get that local passwddddddddd

 

@Daveb, exactly which folder(s) are you having this problem with. It might be helpful if we knew which folders to help with more suggestions.

 

I did this and it worked. I entered my hotmail account instead of my name. When I did the Check Name, it came right up and everything went as it should.

 

To Add Administrator Rights or Access Privileges –

How to do this –
Click on Windows icon on bottom left of screen,
Click on File Explorer>, chose file or folder with files: for one file, highlight file, click on file for one file, or for multiple files click on first file and click shift key on last file to select multiple files.
Right click to open Share With / Specific People, you will see box Choose People to Share With, Under Name Find Name of Owner, it will be highlighted in grey, if you have to choose make sure it has Read/Write chosen left click on Share Button, it will now open a box that shows your shared file, click on done.

I have used this on PDF, Word, Excel, Quicken and Photo files with no problem and it stays fixed.

I bought a new computer and transferred all of my files from the old computer running Windows 10 with a Western Digital backup to a new computer and I had this problem with every single file and picture. It really is a pain to fix every file, but it is an easy fix, just time consuming.
