Windows 10: I need help to move all my files from my OneDrive back to my laptop hard drive ..........

Hello,I'm not sure how but it looks like I've wrongly moved all my documents files from my laptop hard drive to the folders in my OneDrive account.Now when I open the folders on my laptop hard drive they are empty and they used to have all my files in them. When I look in my OneDrive folders all my files appear to be current and accessible, but there is a latency now when working with my documents which didn't happen when my files were on my hard drive.I want to move all my files back on my laptop hard drive so I can access my files when I don't have internet access as well as removing the lat

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Laptop hard drive upgrade

To replace a hard drive on a laptop is a little more troublesome than a desktop. 1st as most people here suggest you will need some sort of a backup disk just in case. Also be sure when buying the new Hard Disk is compatible with your model. And i would strongly suggest you install a new system and start from scratch because there are far too many problems that can occur when transferring system files.

 

External Hard Drive

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.
