I need help with GPO (Custom Libraries + hidden C:)

    Hi,

I am having an issue that I need assistance with. I have a group policy which updates the Windows Registry in order to "Hide" the C:-drive. No permissions are changed, it is only the visibility that is changed ("NoDrives" @ "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer").

This works fine, it is applied on over ten thousand computers and there are literally zero issues with it.

However, we have a second policy. This second policy creates a local folder directly on the root, e.g. "C:\Folder". This policy also works flawlessly.

Now to the problem! We want to take this newly created folder and add it into a custom library. However, it seems like objects created on a hidden drive is not allowed to be added (not manually nor automatically) to a library.

My question to TenForums today is if you have any idea why this is happening.

So what we want to accomplish is:
    1. One GPO to hide C: using RegEdit
    2. One GPO to create a folder on C:
    3. One GPO (or same GPO as in number 2) that will add this new folder to a library.

Any ideas? Thank you for reading and merry christmas.

    Windows version: Version 10.0.17763.864
    Hardware / model: Any, non-specified

    :)

  3. Runtime Error - Microsoft Visual C++ Library

    Hi Thierry,

Based on the information you have provided above, it appears that the issue is specifically with the game itself or its components. For us to resolve this concern, we suggest that you follow the steps provided below:

    Step 1: Clean boot.

A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue. It will also eliminate software conflicts that could occur when you install a program, an update, or when you run a program in Windows. Please see
    this link for the steps.

Step 2: You may also reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.

You can uninstall any existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and check if it helps.

    To uninstall the package:

    • Open Programs and Features.
    • From the list, find Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and click on it.
    • Right click on it and select Uninstall.
    • Restart the computer.

Download and install the latest package and see if it helps.

Here's the link for the latest supported Visual C++ downloads

Let us know how it goes after performing the aforementioned solutions. We'd be glad to further assist you.
