Windows 10: I need some help on the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE error

Hello everyone , i get the bluecreen error on my laptop witch stats DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE it doesn't happen all the time , only after i play an amount of time on valorant wich is the only game i play on my laptop . After two games or three, my game start lagging and only after i exit it my computer freezes and the bluecreen pop up . I had this problem before so i reseted my windows , it did solve the problem for couple of weeks ,i played normaly no lag or anything but now i m having the same problem again .

I have a GTX 1050 and my gpu drivers are updated , i need to know what may be causing this problem and could it be a hardware problem ?

• When exactly do you receive the Blue Screen error?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  
• What is the make and model of the computer?

The DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE error occurs when the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. You may want to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the Remarks section of the
article Bug Check 0x9F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
and see if that helps.



Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting
from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Hi Jeedia,

This issue occurs due to incompatible or corrupt display driver. Please try update display drivers manually and check if it helps.

Please try to un-install and install latest display driver and check if it helps. Change the default download folder on your PC Change the default download folder on your PC.

• Press Windows + X, click on Device
  Manager.
• Expand Display adapter, right click on device and select Uninstall.
• And download the latest driver from manufacturer’s website and install.

I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article and check if it helps.
