Hello, I once removed my account on Windows 10, but later I wanted to use this same account again, so I created a new user with the same account by following these steps:Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.Under Other users, select Add someone else to this PC.Enter the user name and password for the account of the previous account.Select Create account.Let's say the username of the old account is username. I realized that there is a C:\Users\username folder on my computer, so I expected the new user data to be still in C:\Users\username, since they are from th

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

2. Have you made any changes on these accounts after creating them?

Not initially. Tried rebooting, removing and readding after a reboot. Tried adding via CLI and GUI interfaces

After that I tried one of the suggestions and tried coping a good account over the newly created account. That did not work

3. Does this issue persists on any specific user account?

No it persists on all newly created accounts do not work

4. What are the troubleshooting steps you have created in resolving the issue?

Just the ones mentioned in Step 2

5. Do let us know if you have any user account with no issues on your computer?

only the initial account that was created when I upgraded to windows 10

 

Creating and removing a user account in Windows 10

To answer your question, kindly follow the steps below:

To create a local user or administrator account:

Method 1:

• Open the Settings app.
• Click on Accounts.
• Select Family & other people.
• Click on Add someone else to this PC.
• Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next.

To remove a user account or administrator account:

• Open the Settings app.
• Click on Accounts.
• Select Family & other people.
• Select the user you want to delete under Other users and click on Remove.
• Accept the UAC (User Account Control) prompt.
• Select Delete account and data if you wish to delete account and the data and follow the onscreen instructions.

Note: Only administrator user can delete a user account. Log on as the new administrator and delete your account.
