  1. I think I Have a virus..

Okay, so it all started a little while ago.. about two weeks to three weeks ago, on my Lenovo Laptop, My YouTube started crashing ALOT for no reason, just randomly would say there was an error in the system, this had never happened to me before. It just recently started, It's real annoying, Apart from that, it has been messing around with my apps on here, and on one particular app, the words are completely glitched, up to some extent unreadable, its really weird since it just started, and never happened before... Basically the letters would turn into squares, and some letters had accentuations on them, and are completely different from what the original text should be, my computer is slow... I'm not sure if it's from a virus, since I mean~ my computer is cheap, 200$ about haha, Considering all this, I'm getting kinda worried that I might even be being watched through my camera...

I kept seeing a lot of warnings from Avast Antivirus saying all this scary- Anxiety inducing things like; "Your Webcam is being Hacked" and "your IP is exposed" I was curious about it so I opened the warning and it ACTUALLY showed my Ip adress, with all the info and good stuff etc... at first I was paranoid, then I saw it also happen on other people's computers and brushed it off as just something to make you buy their Antivirus, I hope.

I just recently did a Quick Virus scan, it said there's no threats detected. But I talked to someone about it, and they confirmed there IS something in my computer...

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE ANYMORE, I'M SCARED.

    HELP

    :)

    You Win User

Thinking about Going back to Win8.1

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
    1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.
    • I think I Have a virus.. [IMG]
    2. When the app opens, uncheck Internet Explorer 11.

    • I think I Have a virus.. [IMG]
    3. Click Yes on the warning dialog.
    • I think I Have a virus.. [IMG]
    4. Click OK.
    • I think I Have a virus.. [IMG]
    5. Restart for the changes to finish.

  3. Clean the Virus

    Hi,

Virus infection usually happens on a computer when it is exposed to an infected website or removable devices. For us to help you clean the malware on your device, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build and version of Windows are you using?
    • Did you encounter any error messages related to having a virus infection on your device?
    • What are the troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest running any available antivirus software on your PC. It would be very helpful to us if you could also provide the result of the antivirus scan process.

    Looking forward to your response.

    I think I Have a virus..

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond I think I Have a virus.. :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
