Windows 10: I think my Windows is corrupting.

I will try my best to summarize this in the best way I can. I believe my Windows install is corrupting or a virus is messing with it. My Windows store failed downloads from error code 0x80073DOA, so I tried resetting my Windows store, which ended up making it disappear from my apps list and refusing to start. After trying the Powershell command to reinstall the Store, I was told I couldn't execute the command due to my firewall being turned off. Entering my Services Window, I tried to start the Firewall service, and got an Error 1068. After researching, I found the dependencies need to make Firewall run, but after trying to start them all, they all gave me Error 5: Access is Denied. Even after attempting to give myself elevated privileges, I still couldn't start any of these services. After realizing that I'm going to need to reset my computer. This is where I find out that Windows Backup does not work properly and would keep my backup size at 0 bytes. This is an error also caused by the firewall as my later research came to find. After using Macrium Reflect to dupe my Hard drive to my other one, I got to doing the reset, where I was greeted with the one thing I didn't want to see: "There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made". I really do not want to have to reset my computer and lose the files because the transferring of all the files back will be painfully long. I really hope that anyone can help me with another way to save my computer and put it back to normal before I full reset it. Thanks!

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
