Windows 10: I think there is a problem with windows, and or my SSD

Good morning,

For about a week now, every time I start my PC at the first screen where my motherboard's logo appears, it reads "to skip disk checking, press any key in 8 seconds." After the eight seconds it then reads "scanning and repairing disk." Then windows boots into my lock screen and there is no picture like usual. Just my theme color. I am able to log in and everything appeared to be running normally aside from the strange disk checking at the beginning.

Then, yesterday I noticed I could not open certain applications. I tried to open apps that I have downloaded in Microsoft store and I cannot, including but not limited to "sticky notes" "calculator" and "WhatsApp."

I have not down any recent big changes to my system, the only thing I have changed recently is 1: I set my downloads folder items to be deleted after 30 days. 2: I set my system not to sink settings with my other system, because I wanted them to have different desktop backgrounds. That is all, I've never gone into my registry, I don't have any programs like CCleaner, I've never even entered powershell.

It's worth noting I uninstalled and reinstalled sticky notes, and it still won't open.



What's going on here? According to windows I am up to date, not missing drivers, device health is good, and there are no threats according to malwarebytes or windows security. I am at a loss. Any and all help is appreciated.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.

2. When the app opens, uncheck Internet Explorer 11.

3. Click Yes on the warning dialog.

4. Click OK.

5. Restart for the changes to finish.
