I used "reset my PC" to remove all person files except for Windows 10 and now I cannot...

So I I used "reset my PC" to remove all person files except for Windows 10" and now I cannot access any windows apps, such as settings or the internet (though I can access my emails). When I right click the background and select "Personalise", I get an error "Ms:settingI used "reset my PC" to remove all person files except for Windows 10 and now I cannot... :personalization-background" which says "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Setting page.

I've run my computer in safe mode, and no change

I have usef SFC /scannow, and now issues came up.

I can done another reset of my PC, so all my settings were reset (though windows was not reinstalled), and no change

I have created second user, and no change there as well.

Any advice / help would be apprecaited.

    KInd regards,

    Brenton

    :)

Reinstalling Windows 10 to sell a PC - is the 'Remove everything' option enough?

Restore factory settings do list Removes your personal files, apps and settings, and reinstalls the version of Windows that came on this PC.

So if this isn't true well than just erase the drive and install a clean Windows 10 with all the drivers u need but why should it be true

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Reset PC in Windows 10

    Hello Raghu,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community and providing us with the detailed description about the issue.

As per the description, I understand that you are experiencing issue with what will happen if you reset your PC in Windows 10.

I certainly understand your concern and will try my best to help you.

I would suggest you to refer to the article given below and check if that helps.

How to refresh, reset or restore your PC

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

    When you refresh your PC:

    • Windows will save your personal files, personalization settings, and Modern apps installed from the Windows Store.
    • Windows will reset your PC settings.
    • Windows will remove all installed desktop programs.
    • A list of the removed programs will be saved to your desktop.
By resetting your computer settings and removing all desktop programs, Windows 8 can “refresh” your PC so it’s more like a fresh install without deleting your personal files.

    When you Reset your PC:

When you reset your PC, Windows will remove everything. Think of this like doing a complete Windows reinstall and formatting your hard drive.

    • All your personal files and apps will be removed.
    • Your PC settings will be changed back to their defaults.
    Note:
If you’re experiencing problems with your computer and want to fix them, you should try refreshing your PC first. Windows will restore system files and desktop programs to their default state, saving all your important personal
files (and Modern apps, if you use them.)

If you want to reset your computer to its factory default state – particularly useful if you’re getting rid of the computer and want to remove your personal data, or if you just want a clean start — you should reset your PC
    instead.

The above steps holds good for Windows 10 as well.
