  1. I want ALL my files back locally from OneDrive

I did not activate OneDrive on my computer. When I turned it on this morning and started work; everything was fine. After about an hour I tried to start a program that accesses my Documents folder and it would not start. After some investigation - everything has been moved to OneDrive. I cannot stress how critical it is that I need these files local and undisturbed. I am a freelance artist and OneDrive has single handedly killed my ability to work. This is CRITICAL and needs to be addressed. Is there a phone number I can call?

    :)

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

  3. Search opens local files in OneDrive folder only in browser

    Hi Elias,

To resolve your concern regarding opening local files on OneDrive, follow the steps below:

    • Go to
      OneDrive.com.
    • Right click on the file that you want to view.
    • Click on Download.
    • The file will be downloaded, and would normally show up on the bottom part of your browser.
    • Click the file, and it would open up using its normal default application.

Let us know how it goes.

  4. I want ALL my files back locally from OneDrive

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
