Windows 10: I want to overclock my laptop, can you help me?

Hi guys, as you can already read in the question, I want to overclock my laptop. I have already downloaded intel extreme tuning utility.

My problem is that I can't play video games properly anymore because it keeps hanging







can you please tell me how to overclock my laptop properly?
my laptop: Lenovo ideapad y700 (intel core-i5)

1809 update disable x99 overclock.

I understand that Broadwell e overclock was disabled after the Windows update. However few of our customers were able to resolve the issue by uninstalling the update.



Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the update.

1. Press Windows logo key + R to open
   Run.
   
2. Type appwiz.cpl
   and click on OK.
   
3. Click on View installed updates.
   
4. Search for the update (KB4100347), right on it and select
   uninstall.
   
5. Then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
   

As the issue is related with the overclocking, I suggest you to wait for the manufacturer of the motherboard to support with the issue, as you have already contacted them.

Overclocking to Save Battery ?

Somebody was suggesting me this, to improve the performance of the battery overclock the phone to 900MHz, it will slow down the processor but will save quite a bit of battery.



My question is

• is it true
• How safe it is, will it cause any damage, working, functionality, features of the phone.
• What side effect, negative effect can it have on the working of the phone.

inshort is it advisable ?
