Windows 10: I want to recover my child password

Hello comunityI made an email for my child long time back and never used it. i know the email address but cant figure out the password. Account is now blocked due to failed password attempts. password recovery keeps returning with "Unfortunately, we have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership" i never sent any email from that account and I cannot be certain about the last password used. IS there any other way to get this password reset?My child account is already part of my microsoft family. but even from there I cannot do anyt

Forgot Child's Password

Hi Jason,

It's possible that you'll be able to change the password through your own administrator account. Just to confirm, is your daughter's account a Microsoft account, or a local user account?

If it's a local account, remove or change the password from the Control Panel. Sign in using your administrator account, then follow these steps:

• Click Start.
• Type Control Panel and press Enter.
• Click User Accounts.
• Click Manage another account.
• If the User Account Control window pops up, click Yes.
• Choose the local account that you want.
• Click Change the password.
• Leave the password fields empty if you want to remove the password. Otherwise, enter the new password that you want to use, as wells as a hint and click
  Change password.

If it's a Microsoft family account, follow these steps to remove your child's account:

• Log in using your adult account
  here.
• On the right side of your child's account, click Remove.
• Click Remove again.

After removing the account, you can set up your child's account again. Make sure that you have the correct password when you sign in.

Let us know if you're able to change or remove the password of your child's account after following these steps.

 

Recover child's password W10

I paid for a child's account to use Family Safety. He and I forgot the password. There is NO WAY to change the password for an account I paid for.

All of the "suggestions" I've read for the past few weeks do not work. They are mostly "go to Family safety" and click the "change password" button.

Hey MS, get this straight: There is NO button to change a password for a child's account anywhere!

I filled out the change password form and it was rejected.

I am thinking of starting a class action lawsuit that claims since I paid for the account I should have control over it not my child.

Why did you make us pay for an account and then take away control of that account?

2. Is the child account a Microsoft Account or a local account?
   

I can understand that must make you feel upset, and I appreciate your effort that you have taken to resolve this issue.

Assuming you have already tried resetting the password from account.live.com, I don’t wish to suggest you with the same option. I would suggest you to
refer the article Recover your Microsoft Account
and also refer the section Tips for filling out the recovery form to recover the issue account.
