Windows 10: iCloud for Windows does not sync photos

Per title, iCloud for Windows does not sync photos to my PC.


The system tray icon information regarding photos is stuck to "Updating" but no files have been downloaded.




Explanation: the greek word Ενημέρωση... means Updating in this context


Yes, I already have both HEVC and HEIF codecs installed.


I use the iCloud app as is provided via Microsoft Store, ver. 11.2.

I use Windows 10, ver. 2004.

Creators upgrade and CodeTwo Sync for iCloud

My upgrade went smoothly, but Office Outlook 2007 would not open, citing Code Two as the culprit. Code Two is an Outlook add-in that syncs Outlook calendars, contacts etc with iCloud calendars, contacts etc.
With Code two uninstalled, Outlook works fine, as does iCloud for windows.
I've tried all suggested fixes on the code two website, but have had no success in getting the calendars to sync.
Has anyone been able to get them to play together?

Steps:

1. Open regedit (Win+R, "regedit")
2. Enter key in address bar
3. Deprecate key
   • Opt A. - delete
   • Opt B. - rename something different (e.g. prefix with "_")
4. Close and re-open to observe result
