    I have a problem with a program (.exe) icon that goes wrong. This exe icon have the UAC blue/yellow shield overlay. I change the compatibility settings (run as admin, dpi to system) and now the program exe icon will not display its original icon anymore. It is now a blank white sheet and the UAC overlay is not shown. However, if I do a "Properties" view of that exe file, the correct icon is shown there. It's not showing the correct icon in Explorer. I can make a shortcut of it and the created shortcut also fails to display correctly. I undo the changes to the compatibility settings but it is still the same. Rebuilding icon cache doesn't help too. I have gone as far as re-installing the whole Win10 20H2 OS (This bug previously exist on my Win10 installation on HDD. It appears again when I make a new installation on a new SSD). How is it possible the UAC overlay can mess up my icon and not showing itself? How do I fix this?

    On Windows 10, .zip Default Icon icon does not work so shows merely a white-blank paper sheet icon

    Although .zip file association is set by CP (control panel) sucessfully to a pro application, but .zip Default Icon icon just shows merely a white-blank paper sheet icon, is it Windows 10 peculiarity ?

    How to solve it ?

    Help me to to fix it.. thanks in advance.

    So a white page overlay showed up on most of my desktop icons today...

    In that image you can see the problem, along with he nasty uac overlay which I also want to remove now there's an overlay of a page too almost completely obscuring icons with overlays I wouldn't mind completely deleting the files for...

    So yeah anyone found a way to remove either or both of the overlays?

    Ok, I got a question. The options to hide the overlay are confusing. What are the steps to turn on the overlay in-game? Not interested in logging much at the moment. Is Alt-R part of turning it on/off?
