Windows 10: Icon problem

Hi, I have a recurring Icon problem and would like to get some help from the knowledgeable crowd here at Tenforums *Wink

My problem mainly manifests itself as an inability to show certain Icons.
Like the Windows Mail icon on my desktop for instance. Once in a while it becomes blank.
I then use sfc/scannow & ran the Rebuild_Icon_Cache.bat, which fixes my problem... for a while.
After a couple of weeks or so I end up with the same problem, usually the Windows Mail icon...
But other desktop icons are sometimes affected with the same problem. Not all tho! Just a few.

I find it the most annoying when I use Chrome or Edge...
There the problem occurs with tiny icons, like an arrow on a tile to click on, or other objects.
Example, I use a site called Doccle to archive documents, with 4 user actions (save, delete etc) In the following screenshot you'll see 4 icons, of which one (little square on the right hand side) is wrongly displayed, or not displayed at all.





Another example, although I have no screenshot of that, is when I do online banking I have to use a card reader to verify my transaction. On my screen I see a window appear with instructions, like Login, Sign, Buy etc yet the icon that contains this text is also displayed as in the screenshot above, just a small square. This makes it difficult to discern which is which!

I'm not entirely sure if the Rebuild_Icon_Cache.bat tool fixes my issues, because each time I ran it I see "IconCache.db files have been successfully deleted" yet as you can see in the following screenshot I have certain entries with "Access denied".





Maybe there lies my culprit, I don't know, thats why I come here because I'm sure some of you know!

Ovi Suite Sync Failure with Outlook Notes

Hi Alles,



I am rebuilding my PC in the next couple of days, so I will re-try Ovi Suite and see if that solves the issue. The syncing of Notes is inconvenient but something I could live without; participating in the Beta is an option, but I would prefer to wait for
generally available (i.e. non-Beta) software before using it in place of the current version.



Can you confirm if Ovi Suite is going to replace PC Suite, or whether both products will continue developing side-by-side? For basic, robust Outlook Sync'ing, it does seem to have a better history albeit without the new features (which I can also live without).

Ovi Suite Sync Failure with Outlook Notes

Hi,



Following some changes to my Outlook configuration, which included changing the mail profile in use, I am now unable to sync Outlook Notes to my Nokia phone.



After running a sync operation, the Ovi GUI shows the sync sucessfully completing but the updates to the notes are not made. Checking the sync application log (PC Suite profile) on the phone (UK Voda E71) via Bluetooth, it does not show any attempt to sync
with the phone; The log is not even updated.



My hunch is that I need to correct the Outlook folder location that Ovi finds the notes in. Can anybody advise how I might do that?
