Windows 10: Icon Spacing

I just had to reset my PC and now the icon spacing is all different. The horizontal spacing is alright, but the vertical spacing is much too narrow. I've checked values using the Registry Editor and the values for both horizontal and vertical spacing are -1125. So, why are they narrower? Changing the values kind doesn't fix it.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Right click on the blank space on desktop.
• Click on View.
• Uncheck Align icons to grid.

Icon spacing


This is how I did:

1. Right click on desktop->Display Settings and set it 150%. NOTE: If you have dual monitors, click on other monitor and do the same.
   
   
   
2. Control Panel->Display->Set a custom scaling level, again set it to 150%, Change the text size for each item: Menu, Title, icon etc... then click apply
   
   
   
   

 

Font and Icon size

  Start, type winver, and press Enter. For example, 14393.1066.

As initial recommendation, we suggest following these steps to change the icon size:

• Right-click on an empty space on your desktop.
• Select View.
• Choose Medium icons or Small icons, whichever you prefer more.
  

Additionally, you can change the display size of texts and other items by following these steps:

• Right-click on an empty space on your desktop.
• Click Display settings.
• Under Change the size of text, apps, and other items, drag the slider over to 100%.
  
• If the slider is already on 100%, click Advanced display settings.
• Under Resolution, choose the Recommended option from the drop-down choices.
