Windows 10: Icons on desktop overlap + other display anomalies

Hi.I recently bought a new laptop, and since it's so new I can reset it if that's the easiest fix to my issue:I bought a Lenovo Legion laptop, and I have it connected to a LG 75" TV, so I hardly ever use the laptop's screen. When connected to the TV, the screen resolution shows as 3840 x 2160. If I go to advanced screen settings it shows LG TV SSCR as the screen, and it says "screen 2: Connected to NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650", which is the graphics card in this laptop. If I switch off the TV and open the laptop screen it switches to "screen 1: Internal screen", also with the resolution as 3840 x

ICONs overlapping on desktop

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about Desktop icons overlapping.

The reason why your icons overlap each other is that the align icons to grid is disabled. To resolve this issue, you just need to right-click on an empty space on your desktop and hover to "View" and click on "Align icons to grid" and click on "Auto-arrange icons"

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Deleted icons stay on desktop (not in desktop folder)

I can only suggest that you
1 Add a list of steps you have already taken.
2 Add a comment about restarting the computer. Do the deleted icons disappear then?
2 Add a comment explaining if any Desktop items do delete correctly and whether or not there are any significant differences between those that do delete correctly and those that don't.
3 Add a list of any OS tweaks you have done & any third-party OS-related utilities you have run.

I assume you have already reinstalled your display driver.
