  1. icons on display

    Hi,

I have already tried all suggestions (right click, view, show desktop items)

via virtual and even brought the device into Best Buy one month after the purchase.....Best Buy told me it was a software issue and would charge me $199 to fix.....This device was one month old at that time, in September.

How can we get this fixed please? This should not cost me any money it's not even 6 months since I bought. please help.

I can not see the desktop folders (only the names of the folders) nor can I see any icons the task bar at the bottom of the screen as well.

    Please help

    :)

  2. Icons not displaying

A while ago the icons for certain types of images began to not display in detail, list, or small icons view. Instead they simply display as a weird folder with 4 squares in the upper right corner, seen to the right >

This isn't exactly a terrible issue, but it is quite ugly compared to what it should be. I have tried rebuilding the icon cache manually, and that did not help.

    Any suggestions are much appreciated.

  3. Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

    Follow this steps:

      • Press Windows+X.

      • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

      • Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
        Enter.
Hope the information provided was helpful and do let us know if you need any assistance in the future. We will be glad to help.

  4. icons on display

Display Icon missing from Control Panel

MS has stated they removed the Display Icon from the Creators Update due to (alleged) compatibility problems.
Screenshot? The Display Icon ain’t there to take a screen shot of.
Troubleshooting? Backed out of the Creators Update and the Display Icon returned.
    All is well again.
