BTW, to have & use the FE Applications window which, can be treated like any FE window, see below ... select the View, et al, that you prefer, only minimise it never close it and pin it to all your desktops. Full single view of all applications with nothing inside any folders It will become Applications on your FE Jumplist Open FE, type in shell:appsfolder and hit EnterAn example:Cheers,Drew

    Start Menu List - Settings

You need to go one step further...

Settings >Personalization > Start, then click as shown by the RED square...

  3. Does anyone know how to put recent files folder on the start menu list?

Start menu LIST, you note! Not the tile on the start page (or whatever is the name of that place holder) or a link in ALL APPS!

This used to be a relatively simple line in start menu lists of all (as far as I can remember) previous Windows systems. Why Microsoft has decided to MOVE it to the quick access pane is beyond me.

First off, it involves an extra step of opening up the Explorer. Second, the list of things the user can put on the start menu list using
Settings - Personalization - Start sequence, is limited by the contents of

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu Places

which is VERY UNFLEXIBLE, to say the list!

Third, in quick access pane I don' t seem to be able to revert back to the initial groupings of recent files and frequent folders (these are gone and now shown as a list altogether)

Unnecessary Start Menu List of Applications

I recently updated my windows 10 and found there to be an alphabetized list of applications which wasn't there before. As a person who likes a clean experience without much clutter, I immediately tried to hide this list. In Settings -> Personalization
-> Start, there is no such option.

I would like there to be an option to hide this list and have it expand by pressing a button added to the other start menu buttons such as Power, Settings, etc.

Why would there not be a feature to hide this list by default? There's no chance my most used apps all start with a number, a, b or c. I put all the apps I like to use as tiles, so this list is totally unnecessary for me and I would guess the majority of
users who are smart enough to make their most used apps all tiles. I can see the necessity that this list exist and be accessible from the start menu, but xp had it right when it made you press the Programs button to see all your programs.

PLEASE FIX THIS. I have found your start menu to be so incredibly annoying that I have had to go on your forums to express my disappointment, something I have never done before for any other product.
