Windows 10: iLife Zed Air Pro On Board eMMC storage drops dangerously low to less than 1 GB

Hi All! So My iLife Zed Air Pro PC's On Board eMMC 26 GB storage drops dangerously low to less than 1 GB, soon after updating to the latest winver 10.0.19042.18 something. I've used Disk Cleanup, emptied caches, removed bloatware, but it still cannot claim more than 4 GB. I remember right before the update, it was around 7GB and when I purchased my ilife Zed Air Pro PC, it was over 15 GB when it was new. I recently formatted my others tandby PC and noticed that, that PC didn't update to the 10.0.19042.1800 latest winver instead it's updates have stopped at Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19042

I remember right before the update, it was around 7GB and when I purchased my ilife Zed Air Pro PC, it was over 15 GB when it was new. I recently formatted my others tandby PC and noticed that, that PC didn't update to the 10.0.19042.1800 latest winver instead it's updates have stopped at Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19042.1706] .However the Windows 10 OS on this other PC snares just under 20 GB leaving much more free space.

Now my question, is should I format my iLife Zed Air Pro and hope that it upgrades to Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19042.1706] , thereby freeing up more space for my use? Or should I opt for some third party Windows 10 lite editions as they are being marketed online on YouTube, Google ? How reliable are these? Is there a way I can use my 120 gb SDCARD to store and run Windows 10, or even Windows 11 or Windows 12? Is there a lightweight Windows 10 on the go, like Ubuntu Persistent on a USB drive?

The first thing is please watch out for those Lite versions of Windows, you have no way to know what has been removed from the kernel or if malware has been injected into the kernel.

You would be amazed how many people with 32GB (27GB usable) of internal storage ask the exact same question.

Honestly, there is only one answer, backup your data and perform a clean install of the 32Bit version of Windows 10 a that will give you more internal storage space - I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but it is the only and best Answer. You will then have enough space for the next year of Windows 10 updates and your system will be faster.

Any device with a 32GB SSD is not good enough to run Windows 10, regardless of the system specs put out by Microsoft, the bare minimum these days is 64GB


I honestly don't know why the manufacturers produced these devices.

The Windows 10 folder with a couple of updates will very quickly eat up 20 - 25GB of your hard drive, mine is currently 23GB

You can reinstall Windows 10 at any time and it will not cost you anything, however you will not have enough space to create the bootable Windows 10 32bit USB media, you will need to do that on another working PC

Me too facing the same issues, but not only with Wifi but also, audio & battery too.

( currently using Wifi adapter & external sound device for Internet & Sound)

I have found the drivers in the manufacture's site in the below link (my part name: IL.1406G.232WASW)

But, I was not be able do it. after the very recent windows upgrade, my zed air performance is very good (before I had some issues with keyboard and touch pad too)
