Windows 10: I'm Admin on my Personal Computer and Can't Turn Off Read-Only on My Files

There are literally hundreds of articles out there telling how to solve the problem of not being able to turn off read-only on my files Windows 11, but they just take me around and around and around. At this point, I've been down so many rabbit holes I'm a little bit confused. At first I saw to change the settings in the virus/protection area. I couldn't access manage settings because of Windows Defender, so I turned that off I have alternative virus protection I've used for years so it's ok. Then I see to access the controlled folder to change its options, but I can't access that becaus

It appears that there are corrupted system files on your computer. We suggest that you run System File Checker to repair missing or corrupted system files.

• Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
• In the Command Prompt, type the command sfc /scannow and press ENTER.
  
• Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Try few of the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to run Video playback troubleshooter and check

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Video playback options from the list.
  
• Click Next to run the troubleshooter.

Step 2: I suggest you to copy the files from your computer to another working computer and check if you are able to access them.

This will let us know if the issue is with specific files types on your computer.
