    So why does Microsoft keep asking me to activate when I've done so without incident 9 or 10 times already? Is it a windows update? Did several employees in Washington sleep through nightly backups? Or did I anger someone there who has me on a harassment list? Does Microsoft have any idea what a hassle it is to keep a log book with every computer with "name, ran, serial number" attached to it or in it? Did I buy the license from a thief? Can someone explain what I should do when contacting The Borg??

    3 month free license - stopped working all of a sudden?

    Hi all,

    With my brand new n95 8gb, I received a 3 month free license which I installed the first day of purchasing my phone.

    It was working fine for the first 2 days. Now on the third or fourth day, when I REALLY needed to use it, it has come up with a message saying:

    "Navigation Upgrade

    Voice-guided navigation is an extra service which needs to be activated for a selected region/period of time. Choose region and period of time in the next steps."

    The next steps offer only the options of paying money for a license. What's going on here? What happened to the 3 month license? Why did it suddenly disappear?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    N95 8GB and 3 months free navigation

    On the covers, there was an offer of 3 months navigation. I followed the steps, however, only 14 days license was activated.

    Can anyone explain?

    I had the same problem.

    - When I first activated the 'trial' Nav license, it actually showed TWO licences on the screen at once - a 3-day one and a 90-day one.

    All I could do was click 'OK' if I recall right. - I wasn't able to 'pick' which one I really wanted.

    3 days later it stopped working. I reckon this is a bug for the case that 2 trial licenses are activated.

    I got onto Nokia support and eventually it got escalated and I got told the system was saying I 'purchased' a 3-month license (Well, I didn't hand over any money... So, whatever...)

    Anyway, they gave me the license key for the 3-month 'purchase' and then it seems to activate OK with that key...

    So, contact your Nokia support and tell them your story.

    Mind you, I suspect I have been ripped off a few weeks of my free 3 months - I don't think they moved the purchase date...

    Anyway, with the recent price hike from AU$120 for 3-years to AU$120 for 1 year, I will be looking for a free option when my trial expires.

    $3 a month for nav is reasonable.

    $10 a month is not.

    Sorry Nokia - You won't be getting any more of my money for nav...
