Windows 10: Image icon update for new canon cameras.

Does anyone know when Microsoft will fix the issue of not showing image previews for newer cameras? This is a HUGEEEEEE issue and is causing a lot of issues in my workflow. No one seems to know when this will be fixed and why Apple made this happen almost 2 months after the release but Microsoft still almost 2 years later hasn't fixed this issue.

I'd suggest you some some money and buy a camera in a higher price range 200-250$ look for canon / panasonic best compact camera manufactures atm

 

Images cannot be downloaded from Canon A520 camera into Windows 10.

Canon know that it is impossible to download A520 directly to Windows 10 but have said that a memory card reader that takes SD and/or multimedia would facilitate. I have ordered one and will let you know if it works.

 

Canon cameras are not working on Win 10

Either of my Canon cameras are working since I've been on Windows 10. The cable is fine, the computer can detect the cameras, there's a "ring" when I plug it, but I can't download pictures or connect to the SD card as an external drive. The Device manager
can detect I have a Canon camera connected, but tells me the Driver is not installed. There is no driver on the Canon websites for those cameras.

I have installed the WIndows Media player, as suggested by somem to get the necessary driver, to no effect.

I have tried to unplugged all my USB devices before connecting my camera, to no effect.

I have tried to install all software suggested by Canon, to no effect.

The cameras are a Canon Powershot SX 130 IS and a Canon Powershot D20.

The problem seems to also exist on Nikon camera, as I've been reading around. No working solution seems to have been published as of now...
