    Import .EML files to Windows 10 Mail


    Hello


    I have .eml files stored on disk but outside of Windows 10 Mail.


    I need to import them into Windows 10 Mail.


    If I double-click one of them, Windows 10 Mail opens the email in a separate window with no action options. It appears to be simply a reader program. The window is outside of Windows 10 Mail.


    If I 'Send to Email Recipient' from File Explorer Windows does NOT recognize the file extension association already established by Windows 10 Mail for itself.


    I cannot find any instruction in either Windows 10 or Windows 10 Email.


    How do I do this please?

    .EML file import into Windows 10

    Is there a way to import .eml files (created as export from Windows Live Mail) into Windows 10 mail? Files are no longer on server, only stored on previous computer. Can't locate Microsoft .eml program/app to read .eml files, even though Microsoft program
    created them.

    1--Can Windows Mail (Vista/*.eml) be imported to Windows 10 Mail client?
    2--Also while setting up Windows 10 Mail, when I Delete last Email, Mail closes. Any help/suggestions?

    how do I import .eml files to windows 10 mail?

    I have the same question: I have a bunch of *.eml files that I need to import in Windows 10 Mail App.

    The files were extacted from a Windows Vista PC with a damaged HDD using the command prompt so the option of doing a "clean" export from Windows Vista is not really a option. What I have is all the *.eml files in a folder on a USB.

    I'm not even sure that the Windows 10 Mail app actually stores emails as *.eml because I have received some emails since starting to use Windows 10 and a search for *.eml files on the whole HDD does not yield any results!

    I am running out of ideas...

    A search shows the following thread:

    Where does the Windows 8 Mail App store data?

    But I went to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps/LocalState

    and I cannot find an "indexed" folder.

    Help anyone?
