Windows 10: Import Faxes

How do I import faxes, activity logs, and cover sheets from Fax Console to Windows Fax and Scan? Earlier versions of Windows running Fax Console have a File menu option to Import Faxes but not in Windows Fax and Scan. Attempting to copy over to the sub-directory structure under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax does not recognize the logs and faxes

Windows FAX and SCAN - Fax missing in Sent Items and Inbox folder

Hi,

I suggest to uninstall the scanner and fax drivers from the device manager and then re-add the fax modem. Restart the computer and create a new connection.

Follow the steps to uninstall the Scanner and fax drivers:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X key and click
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Other Devices.
  
• 
  Right-click on the devices listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.

Unstumped! Thanks for the push Ken, into sending a new fax. The light eventually dawned on me that the file names of the sent faxes differed over several groups of characters to those of the 'new' sent fax. After a laborious cut and paste operation on all sent faxes I now have a complete record.

Out of interest, I also found this useful 'help' from M$ for missing 'sent' faxes.

• Go to the Control Panel and select Programs and features.
• On the left side select Turn Windows Features on or off.
• Scroll down to Print and Document services.
• Select the plus sign to expand.
• Remove the check from Windows FAX and Scan.
• Select OK.

To install repeat the steps and put a check mark, restart the computer.

fax modem and fax service


Hi ronrosenfeld. Sorry about the delay. For some reason, the way I got it going is to go into 'Tools', there you will see 'Fax Settings' and 'Fax Accounts'. When you select 'Fax Accounts', it will show your Modem. Select it and you should be in business. I don't know why Microsoft makes it so complicated, or why it came up with that extra step of Fax Account. Hope that helps.
