Windows 10: Import or Export Favorites as HTML File in Microsoft Edge

@EJS & @CWGilley, KB4016240 is for Creators Update, 1703 build 15063. You have both stated you are on build 14393 so no - it isn't applicable to your system. To get an Export button in Edge you need the Creators Update, version 1703.

 

You should be able to use the method below to update to the latest version of Windows 10.

And BTW, I now have the EXPORT option. You're good. To paraphrase Lord Vader (or Yoda): "The Force is strong with this one".

 

Shawn, please indulge my ignorance here. Prior to the ability to export my favorites to an HTML file, I ran this line in a bak-up batch file:

XCopy "C:\Users\Clayton\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User \Default\DataStore\*.*" "E:\Users\Clayton\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User \Default\DataStore\*.*" /v/s/m/y

Now I do an HTML file export anytime my favorites change and copy that file off to my external drive.

My question is: Do I need to continue both practices, or is the HTML file all I need to do a complete restoration?

The HTML will only include your favorites.

 

That's all I need, and all I needed to know. I can drop the line copying the \DataStore folder.
