Windows 10: Importing photos from my Android phone but auto-delecting browser-downloaded thumbnails

Every time I upload my photos and videos from my Android phone to my PC, the Windows 10 photo downloader identifies both my photos taken with the camera app as well as all of the billions of tiny thumbnails for game ads and various nonsense that my browser and various apps have downloaded in the background.


Is there any way to tweak the setting for photo importing so that when I plug my phone into my PC, it does not see advertising thumbnails equally alongside photos I've actually taken with my camera?

No option to import photos from Android

I am attempting to download some photos from my Android phone onto my computer via USB. When I plug my phone into my computer, the Windows Photos app automatically opens and shows a list of all photos on my phone. It says "Select items to import from."
However, there is no button or option to actually start the import of the photos. It has only started doing this recently, and in the past there would be a button for me to start the import after choosing my photos. I haven't changed any settings or downloaded
anything in the past few days so I'm not sure what would be causing this problem.

 

Windows 10 phone companion importing unwanted images

I'm trying to import photos from my Android phone to my Windows 10 using the Phone Companion app. It is importing all my photos with a day/month file structure, but it is also importing unwanted album artwork, and thumbnails from my phone. I'm trying to
avoid a lot of manual file cleanup. Any suggestions are appreciated.

1) How are you exactly trying to import the photos in Windows 10?

2) Where exactly you refer to, when you say " box that displays them has no "import" button"? Is it in Photos app/any other source?

Follow the below steps to import the photos from your phone through Photos app and check if it helps.

• Open the Start menu, type Photos in search bar results and click on Photos app from the search bar results.
  
• Click on the (...) Symbol at the top right corner of the Photos app.
• The icon next to (...) Symbol is the Import icon, Click on it.
• Follow on screen instructions to import the photos from the connected device to your computer (Android/Windows/other device)
