Impossible W10 installation - PC build

    Hi all,

I've looked for an answer everywhere but can't find anything so I've finally decided on creating a new post.

I've built my first PC, specs are as follow:

    CPU
    AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor

    Motherboard
Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard

    Memory
    G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory

    Storage
ADATA SU630 960 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

    Video Card
EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB KO GAMING Video Card

    Power Supply
SeaSonic S12III 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

PC is starting, I can get into the BIOS and it recognizes all the hardware installed.

Problem is during the Windows installation.
I've copied on an USB key the data from this ISO: Win10_1809_French_x64.iso (later versions don't work).
I've also copied SATA drivers otherwise the installer doesn't recognize my SSD even though the BIOS does.

Once I've loaded the drivers my SSD appears but I can't install Windows on it.

    Either it's telling me:
"we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one..."

or if I clean the disk through the command, copy the data on it, convert it to gpt etc... sometimes it will take me to the next step but won't copy the Windows files and will tell me that "windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation".

I've tried playing in the BIOS with the Secure boost and Legacy but doesn't help...

    Any ideas?

Let me know if more info is necessary to help, and sorry my english isn't perfect.

    Thanks !

    :)

  2. PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

    PC Build Steps

1.1 - Ideally put optical in SATA 0, and SSD in SATA 1, this will cause the optical drive to be the default 1st boot option. You can change it manually if not, but I like it this way
    2.infinity - yes, that's fine. if it's above 70 +/- 5 degrees, then it may just need a repaste/remount
