Windows 10: Improve Windows Search Function/Index

Hello,Enterprise Set Up/ Windows 10 [1809/20H1] / Shared Network DriveI'm reaching out to see if anyone's experienced the following and if there's any way to improve the search feature within file explorer and network drives. While searching our network drive for lets say for example 'wil' looking for files that reference the employee 'Willson' its populating the followingX WillsonY WillsonorX-WillsonBut missing files with the following namesXWillsonYWillsonIn the advanced search option I can include the 'file contents' and it will populate all the results and additional ones not partaking t

System conflict is one of the possible reasons why the index built will not function properly. We suggest running the Search and Indexing troubleshooter by following these steps to resolve your issue:

• Open Control Panel.
• In the search box, type troubleshooting.
• Click on Troubleshooting.
• Click on View all.
• Select Search and Indexing and select the proper scenario that you are experiencing on indexing and click
  Next for the troubleshooting to begin.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type Services.msc In the search box.
• Select Windows Search
• Restart the services and set the service as Automatic

If the issue persist try performing Rebuilding Index again.

To rebuild the index follow the steps below:

• Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
• Open Indexing Options in the Control Panel.
  
• Select the Advanced button in the Indexing Options window.
• Select Rebuild in the Troubleshooting section of the Advanced Options window.
• Select OK when it asks if you’re sure you want to re-build the search index.

A possible cause of this issue is a corrupted index. To help you resolve the issue, we suggest rebuilding the
Windows Search Index. Rebuilding the
Windows Search Index will get rid of corruptions. For the steps on how to perform this procedure, please follow the steps below.

• Click the Start button.
• Type Indexing Options.
• Select Indexing Options.
• Click Advanced. Click Yes, if prompted or enter the administrative password.
• Go to Index Settings tab.
• Click Rebuild.
• Wait for the process to finish.

The process may take a while to finish depending on your PC.
