    Enabling windows firewall in windows 10

    In Avast, you should be able to turn off the Firewall component via "Active Protection" tab.

    Does Free AVAST need additional firewall software?

    My free version of McAfee LiveSafe is about to expire. I plan to replace it with AVAST free anti-virus software which will turn off Microsoft Defender. My computer is a desktop sitting behind a router so that makes it on a private network, right? My
    question is do I need additional firewall software? AVAST free doesn't include an advanced firewall so I assume it includes some sort of firewall. Thank you

    Hi, could you specify which version of Avast.. Avast free/Avast Internet Security...?
    A screenshot could help.. and if it's an Avast product specific issue, rather than Avast interacting with Windows FW, you might be better off using Avast's forum.

    (I use Avast free, and sometimes get Windows FW messages, but those aren't related to Avast).

    Sorry my fault it was Avast Premier. I have uninstalled it. Because it was happening all the time. I am back to Windows Defender. It found a trojan Avast didn't!
