Windows 10: Inability to Connect my Laptop to WiFi (Error 1607)

I have an HP laptop that is almost two years old. It has previously given me no noteworthy problems.

However, recently I was watching a YouTube video and the internet just disconnected. Moreso, the computer wasn't detecting any networks... mine or the neighbors. The internet was still functional and other devices were using it, so it was a laptop issue. I tried to use a Wifi plug in adapter, still no WiFi.

When I checked WLAN Autoconfig it was set to Stop. When I tried to change it to Start, it gets about halfway completed before giving me Error 1607, saying something to the effect of "this action has stopped unexpectedly".

I've Googled and tried everything I can think of to fix it; one tech even suggested uninstalling my OS and reinstalling it as a "sure fix", but the computer still has the same issues. Still the same Error 1607.

As it is, I'm only able to connect to the internet with an ethernet cable. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

Cannot connect to wifi with laptop

We would like to isolate this issue that you're having right now. We suggest that you try the steps below:

  Go to Network and Sharing Center.
  
• 
  At the right pane, click Change adapter settings.
  
• 
  Right click on your connection name (WiFi name) and Properties.
  
• 
  Click the Configure... button.
  
• 
  Go to Power Management tab.
  
• 
  Uncheck/disable the radio button for "Allow this device to turn off this device to save power".
  
• 
  Restart the PC (Important)

Cannot Connect to home Wifi After Windows 10 1607 upgrade

Having updated the various suggested drivers, as explained in my previous reply, the laptop's wifi connection to my home wifi system unfortunately remains intermittent. Prior to the 1607 windows 10 update it connected easily for many years, and I have
other devices connecting to the wifi system without a problem. The laptop has has connected without a problem to new outside wifi sources, but failed to connect to one that it had connected with before. There seems to be some barrier that leads to the message
"cannot connect to this network" from my home wifi system (and perhaps others it historically connected to) that was not there before?

 

Laptops cannot access desktops via WIFI


I have 3 desktops (all on Windows 10 1803) connected on my LAN. After following this forum for some times and did all the steps as suggested by forum member, access denied, all my desktops are able to view and access one another. I have a printer connected to PC1, and managed to connect all the other 2 PCs to have the shared printer.

I also have 2 more laptops (both Asus with the same Windows 10 1803) connected via WIFI. Performed all the same steps as per the desktops, but I was not able to access PC1. I was able to view all the 3 desktops from the file explorer, but I just can't access all the desktops. However, I was able to access the Asus laptops from desktop PC1.

Anyone able to assist on this matter? Any assistance is highly appreciated.
